About Us
Having bought 20 acres on the side of the Kaipara Harbour, 1 1/2 hours north of Auckland we were looking for a moveable building and found a chapel for sale on the internet. It came from Arney Road, Remuera, and had been the Chapel of the Good Shepherd.
We fell in love with it immediately and had it moved on to our property.
Over the next few years we made the chapel into a comfortable home.
After a lot of research we decided our land would be suitable for growing olives for oil and planted 1130 trees successively over the next four years.
We choose Frantoio and Luccino which are Italian varities, and Koroneiki which is a Greek variety. These varieties stand up well to our prevailing south westerly winds.
Our position on the side of the Kaipara produces good quanities of olives which when pressed give a unique fresh flavour.
